How Long Will It Take To Qualify As A DVSA ADI

How Long Will It Take To Qualify As A DVSA ADI

DVSA ADI Part 1

To attempt to give some guidance to the length of time to allow to study for ADI Part 1; I would expect someone that was able to devote several hours per day, and able to learn relatively quickly to need at least 8 weeks to complete the course.

Someone with less time to study, or that is slower at learning new information will obviously take longer.

Everyone is different, there is no set time scale for ADI Part 1, the important thing is to have studied and learnt the material thoroughly.

DVSA ADI Part 2

Typical waiting times for ADI Part 2 Tests are about 6 to 8 weeks.

An 8 session training course at a rate of 1 session per week should allow time in between training sessions for extra practice.

The 8 week estimate for this course can be increased or decreased to suit your circumstances, but waiting times for tests do need to be taken into account.

DVSA ADI Part 3

A 15 session training course at a rate of 1 session per week should allow time in between training sessions for preparation, study and practice.

The 15 week estimate for this course can be increased or decreased to suit your circumstances, but waiting times for tests do need to be taken into account.

Once the 15 session training course has been completed it can be very beneficial (but not compulsory) to use a Trainee Licence to gain more experience teaching real clients.

A Trainee Licence lasts for 6 months, so ideally the plan should be to pass the ADI Part 3 within that time period.

How Long Will It Take To Qualify As A DVSA ADI

The main factors affecting how soon you can qualify as a DVSA ADI, are:

Allowing for time to study and prepare for each of the 3 exams, and for waiting times for the exams, a realistic time to qualify is between 6 and 12 months.

If you are able to devote a lot of time to your preparations, and can learn quickly, and you are lucky with waiting times for exams, it could be possible to qualify in about 4 months.
But this time scale is exceptionally quick.

The maximum time to complete the qualification process is 2 years from the date that the ADI Part 1 exam is passed.
