DVSA ADI Part 1 Training Programme

Your study for DVSA ADI Part 1 is a home study course.

The course can be completed at your own pace to fit around your other committments.

It is important to get an expert knowledge, both to ensure success at the ADI Part 1 exam, but also to help with your preparations for ADI Part 3, The Test of Instructional Ability, and also to give you the confidence when teaching real clients in the future.

The rate at which people learn varies, as does the amount of time they have to devote to studying, so it is difficult to predict the length of time required to prepare for the ADI Part 1 exam.

To attempt to give some guidance to the length of time to allow to study for ADI Part 1; I would expect someone that was able to devote several hours per day, and able to learn relatively quickly to need at least 8 weeks to complete the course.

Someone with less time to study, or that is slower at learning new information will obviously take longer.

Everyone is different, there is no set time scale for ADI Part 1, the important thing is to have studied and learnt the material thoroughly.

It can be useful to commence the ADI Part 2 training, before the ADI Part 1 exam is taken, this can help to prepare for the Hazard Perception element of ADI Part 1 in realistic circumstances, not just on a computer screen.

DVSA ADI Part 2 Training Programme

Driving Instructor Trainers can help you to prepare for DVSA ADI Part 2, The Test of Driving Ability with a training programme that consists of 8 half day training sessions.

It can be useful to commence the ADI Part 2 training, before the ADI Part 1 exam is taken, this can help to prepare for the Hazard Perception element of ADI Part 1 in realistic circumstances, not just on a computer screen.

Everyone is different, so if you are able to reach the required standard with fewer training sessions, we can adjust your course; equally if you need extra training sessions, we can adjust your course accordingly.

The practice between training sessions allows you to better consolidate your newly developed driving skills.

DVSA ADI Part 3 Training Programme

Driving Instructor Trainers can help you to prepare for the DVSA ADI Part 3, Test of Ability to Instruct Exam with a training programme that consists of 15 half day training sessions.

The role of a driving instructor involves being able to offer training to people ranging from a complete beginner

The 15 session training programme is a good foundation to prepare for the ADI Part 3 exam, and it can be possible to pass the exam after completeing the course.

A driving instructor needs to be able to be prepared to deal with all of these situations, both on the ADI Part 3 exam, and when teaching real clients.

To gain extra experience before taking the ADI Part 3 exam it can be useful to use a Trainee Licence to get practice teaching real clients.

A condition of the issue of a Trainee Licence is that a minimum of 40 hours of training has been received covering the syllabus for ADI Part 3, the 15 session training programme fulfills this requirement.

When a Trainee Licence is used, Driving Instructor Trainers can continue the training programme for the duration of the trainee licence
